On 21 March, Australian Consulate General in Makassar Todd Dias met the Mayor of Makassar Munafri Arifuddin to discuss current and potential cooperation. The KIAT supported ‘Revitalising Informal Settlements and their Environment’ (RISE) team, led by Monash University, joined the meeting to explain their recent work to improve water and sanitation for inhabitants of informal settlements in Makassar.

KIAT held a strategic planning workshop with the MPW Human Resources Agency (BPSDM) as part of its Promoting Advancement of Women in Indonesia’s Infrastructure Sector (PAVE) initiative. Australia and KIAT have partnered with the Bali Provincial Government to enhance sustainable and safe public transport. As part of this collaboration, Australia’s Consul-General in Bali, Jo Stevens, officially handed over to then Acting Governor of Bali, Sang Made Mahendra Jaya, the feasibility study for an Electric Bus Rapid Transit (eBRT) system covering the Denpasar metropolitan area (known as Sarbagita), as well as a Mobility Plan for the Ubud metropolitan area.
