Strengthening Subnational Road Development and Management

The SNRSR launch was attended by the Minister Counsellor for Economic, Investment and Infrastructure of the Australian Embassy, Tim Stapleton, the Deputy for Infrastructure of Bappenas, Ervan Maksum, and the DGH Director General, Rachman Arief Dienaputra.

The subnational road network is vital for Indonesia, linking provinces, districts and villages to national transport and logistics networks, supporting social development and regional economic growth.

Capitalising on the good practices derived from the Provincial Road Maintenance and Improvement (PRIM) pilot and the Government of Indonesia funded Program Hibah Jalan Daerah (PHJD), KIAT launched the Subnational Roads Strengthening and Reforms (SNRSR) activity. The SNRSR works with the Directorate General of Highways (DGH) to improve Indonesia’s development and maintenance of the subnational road network, contributing to the national goal of food security, with special consideration for climate resilience.

Held in Jakarta on 5 December 2024, the SNRSR launch was attended by the Minister Counsellor for Economic, Investment and Infrastructure of the Australian Embassy, Tim Stapleton, the Deputy for Infrastructure of Bappenas, Ervan Maksum, and the DGH Director General, Rachman Arief Dienaputra.
