Australia Partners with Jakarta to Improve Public Transport Connectivity

KIAT, Jakarta City Government and PT MITJ collaborate to improve public transport efficiency and accessibility, focusing on enhancing the Sudirman Gateway at Dukuh Atas.

KIAT is working with the Jakarta city government and PT Moda Integrasi Transportasi Jabodetabek (PT MITJ) to improve the efficiency and accessibility of Jakarta’s public transport system. A key focus is the enhancement of the Sudirman Gateway area at Dukuh Atas, one of the city’s busiest transport interchanges, serving nearly 4 million passenger trips daily.

KIAT and PT MITJ signed a working partnership agreement to improve passenger and pedestrian flow and encourage greater private sector investment in Jakarta’s transport infrastructure. The signing was attended by Fuad I. Z. Fachroeddin - the President Director of PT MITJ, Jonathan Gilbert - the Australian Embassy’s Minister Counsellor for Economic, Investment and Infrastructure, Didiek Hartantyo - President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), and Rizky Shebubakar - Head of TOD Division of PT MRT Jakarta.

This collaboration marks a significant step toward a more integrated and inclusive transportation system in Jakarta, enhancing the passenger and visitor experience at the transportation hub.
